Palermo defender Achraf Lazaar has revealed that the Aquile are aiming to secure a place in Europe for next season and insists that he always does what’s best for the club.

The Rosanero, who currently sit in 10th place in the league standings with 22 points, are now unbeaten in their past eight Serie A matches after closing out 2014 with a 3-3 draw against Atalanta on December 21 and the 22-year-old admits that the Sicilian side are remaining positive about earning a spot in the Europa League while trying to avoid getting carried away with themselves.

Lazaar recently spoke to the press at the Official Palermo Store about Palermo’s objectives for the current campaign and commented on his future.

“It would have been important to close the year with a victory, but Atalanta is a team that have been able to do pretty well so far,” said the Moroccan international.

“We believe in Europe, but we must keep our feet on the ground.

“My future? I only think of playing and doing well. I always look to do whatever I can for the good of the team.”
