Luca Toni - VeronaHellas Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini believes his side’s united spirit is what gave the Gialloblu victory against Udinese and praised Luca Toni after his 300 goal milestone.

Antonio Di Natale opened the scoring for the Zebrette midway through the first half before Toni and Lazaros Christodoulopoulos scored for the away side either side of the break to give them a 2-1 victory.

“The team deserved victory today and we are very happy as the team needed this success,” Mandorlini told Radio Rai following the conclusion of the match.

“The victory was due to the spirit of the players and to come from behind away from home is really difficult.

“We played very compact and gave very little to Udinese.

“[Antonio] Di Natale and Toni are two champions and I would like to congratulate them both.”

Verona go on to face city rivals Chievo in the final Serie A game of the year before the winter break on December 21.
