Mertens – Napoli
Napoli winger Dries Mertens has claimed his side are ready to face Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana on Monday in Doha, Qatar.
The match was initially scheduled for August 24, but had to be postponed because of Napoli’s participation in the UEFA Champions League play-off round.
Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss from Doha, Mertens has admitted this match has great importance because it is a trophy the team want to triumph in especially against reigning Serie A champions Juventus.
“For us and for all the fans it is an important game,” Mertens said.
“The whole team and all the fans want to win this trophy and we know what we have to do to win against Juventus because they are a great team.
“Juventus is always a strong team but so are we.”
The 27-year-old Belgian international has accumulated 14 appearances this season scoring once in the process.
