Mexes - AC MilanAC Milan defender Philippe Mexes has insisted that the Diavolo are prepared to play their next match against Roma with the same desire they showcased in their recent victory over Napoli.

The Rossoneri were able to hand the Partenopei a 2-0 defeat the San Siro on Sunday and the 32-year-old is hoping that his team have reached a turning point in their season as they look to earn three points against the Giallorossi at the Stadio Olimpico on December 20 in their final league match of the year.

Mexes spoke to Milan Channel following AC Milan’s comfortable win over Napoli about the San Siro outfit’s mission to find continuity while gaining more points and commented on the upcoming meeting with Roma.

“We hope that this is the turning point for us,” said the Frenchman. “We needed an important victory, but we haven’t really done anything yet.

“We are on the right path anyway. We must believe in ourselves in order to find continuity and achieve better results.

“The team had prepared for this game all week following the disappointing loss to Genoa, which left us feeling a bit down.

“We didn’t want to lose and it was important for us to do well at home. We wanted to win because it was the last game of the year in front of our fans. And then we came out on top of Napoli.

“Now we want to face Roma with this same desire and take home as many points as possible.”
