Major League Soccer clubs New York City FC and New York Red Bulls are reportedly setting their sights on landing Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi this winter.

The 31-year-old, who has spent his entire professional career with the Giallorossi, had been linked with a possible move to the MLS over the summer but ended up remaining at the capital city club instead, though it seems a future in North America still seems possible for the vice-captain.

According to Il Messaggero, both the Red Bulls and new side NYC FC are interested in offering the Italian international a contract ahead of the 2015 season, which is set to begin in the spring.

Reports suggest, however, that the World Cup winning midfielder would be unwilling to leave Roma so soon and may need more time to make such a big decision.

De Rossi, whose current contract with the Lupi is set to expire in June 2017, has scored one goal and provided one assist in his 11 Serie A appearances this term thus far.
