Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella has said his side should have beaten Empoli on Sunday.

Empoli equalised in the second half against La Viola to make the final score 1-1, but Montella believes that his team dropped two points that they could have easily achieved.

“I was sure we would have won, but Empoli believed until the final whistle,” the 40-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

Montella also commented on the rumours about Juventus striker Sebastian Giovinco coming to the Stadio Artemio Franchi,

“Maybe he is a bit too expensive for us,” the tactician admitted.

“But we should improve in attack and on the wings.”

The draw on Sunday means Fiorentina remain in eighth in the Serie A table, while Empoli climb to 13th in the standings.
