Former Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has praised current club Juventus for giving him opportunities to make strides in his game.

In 16 appearances in Serie A and Champions League thus far for the Bianconeri the Spanish international has scored only four times, finding it difficult to crack the starting eleven.

“I am very happy to play for Juventus, I think I made a good step forward, being at the best club in Italy and one of the best in Europe,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am happy with the opportunities they are giving me, maybe I could have scored more, but I found some great goalkeepers.

“Fernando [Llorente] is a great player and a very good person, we are comrades and we pull for everyone as we are on the same side. If he plays and scores I will be the first to be happy and I think Fernando would be just as happy if I scored.”

The 22-year-old then compared Serie A to La Liga as well as commenting on Juventus’ upcoming Champions League tie with Borussia Dortmund.

“In Italy the defenses are more difficult to deal with,” the striker continued. “The Italian defenders have more experience and when they play against us [they] maintain high concentration. The tactics are interpreted differently than in Spain, where [the defense] sticks together.

“Borussia is a great team that has done well for years in Germany and in Europe. There are not proving their value based on how they are doing in the Bundesliga, but I think from now to February they will creep up the [Bundesliga] standings. Surely we will have two good games.”
