Napoli are eyeing a surprise swoop for Aston Villa left-back Aly Cissokho when the transfer window re-opens in January.
The 27-year-old French international has been an impressive performer this season for the Villans, having only joined the club this past summer from Valencia.
According to Mediaset, Napoli are in the market urgently for a left-back given Camilo Zuniga’s persistent injury problems and Faouzi Ghoulam’s impending departure to the African Cup of Nations in January.
The report suggests Napoli director Riccardo Bigon is ready to fly over to England to watch Cissokho in action, before making a serious approach for the fullback.
Cissokho has been an ever-present for Paul Lambert’s side this season, clocking up 14 league appearances so far.
