Pavel Nedved believes that the Champions League draw could have been tougher for Juventus after they were paired Borussia Dortmund.

The Serie A leaders will play the Bundlesliga side at the Juventus Stadium on 24 February before heading to the Westfalenstadion on 18 Marchand the former Czech Republic midfielder believes that despite Dortmund’s better European form this season, his former team will have enough to progress.

‘’It was not a luxury draw because they are a team that I highly respect, but it certainly could have been worse,” he told Mediaset after the draw.

‘’You shouldn’t underestimate Borussia because they’re a different team in Europe to the one you see in Germany and have many players of proven class.

‘’They play great football and press a lot when on the field. However, Juve will be able to gamble because we know that they are not invincible and want to go through.”

Nedved, who played 247 league games for Juve before retiring in 2009, also mentioned the Golden Ball and explained why there should only be one winner when it comes to the prestigious award, which is between Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Manuel Neuer.

‘’It’s easy this season, even if Neuer did win the World Cup,” he continued.

‘’Cristiano Ronaldo is doing extraordinary things and scoring two or three goals a game.’’

The 42-year-old also spoke about why he believes the future is very bright at Juventus with some of the young players that they will have in the coming years.

He concluded: ‘’We have talent around like Simone Zaza and Domenico Berardi that will be here to give us a hand in the future.”
