Alberto Paloschi was delighted with his winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Hellas Verona in the Derby della Scala on Sunday afternoon.
The former AC Milan man popped up 10 minutes from time to head home and give the Flying Donkeys a vital three points in their fight against relegation.
“We got three important points, in terms of our place in the table,” Paloschi told Sky Sport Italia. “So we are very happy.”
“The fact they came in the derby makes the feeling even better.
“I wanted to go and hug [Gennaro] Sardo as he sits next to me on the bus and is one of my closest friends.
“We are a large group and are growing, it was a good performance. We have to continue like this.”
The 24-year-old was then asked about his goal being offside, as replays showed he was slightly off.
“There was a penalty first [which he didn’t get], so it is ok.”
