Parma’s new vice-president Fabio Giordani has railed against the club’s current predicament insisting the Ducali have no intention of being relegated to Serie B.

A long change of ownership deal looks to be coming to an end, though the exact identity of the group who are likely to become owners of the club remains unknown.

“The consortium consists of 60% investment from the Cypriot side,” Giordani revealed in the club’s press conference, “and 40% from the Russian one. I have a confidentiality agreement and, I would like to avoid a complaint. By early March there will be no difficulty saying.

“The interest in Parma is that it is an attractive city in the north,” he continued, “the crowd is good and the interest was for Italy.”

He went on to reveal that the new ownership consortium has intentions to invest in the transfer market in January.

“The exact figure is not yet known but the accounts are yet to be put in place. I report to the holding company, as the money is not mine.

“Now I have to sit down and study the figures,” he went on to disclose, “but we certainly do not want to go into Serie B, absolutely. We want to stay in Serie A.”
