Manuel Pellegrini’s Manchester City side eliminated Roma from the Champions League 2-0 on Wednesday night at the Stadio Olimpico.
Speaking after the match to Sky Italia, Pellegrini talked about his team’s fight to qualify for the round of 16.
“I am very happy, first of all with the result, but also because we have faced and defeated a very strong team, especially at home,” explained Pellegrini.
“I had the whole middle column out through injury, but the team played a great game.
“We had some trouble in the first 15 minutes, then the team grew and managed to move the ball well in attack.
“We had played well with both Roma with Bayern, but the result did not show. Then we threw away the game against CSKA, but I never lost faith in qualification. ”
