Lazio coach Stefano Pioli believes that his side have sent out a clear message of intent following their 2-1 victory against Parma.

The capital outfit conceded late in the first half through Raffaele Palladino but fought back immediately through Stefano Mauri before Felipe Anderson gave them all three points.

“This victory shows our intent for the league and significantly boosts our position in the standings and we gave a performance of great character, will and determination,” Pioli told Mediaset Premium following the conclusion of the match.

“We did good things in today’s match but we need to continue to improve and with work we will grow again as a team.

“The result is always decisive but we suffered at times and Parma played well, although so did we.”

Pioli concluded the interview by discussing the situation of Miroslav Klose who has appeared disgruntled at being bench in recent weeks.

“Klose is an important player and a great talent who adds great value to our squad,” he continued.

“Today he did a great job, entering play at the right time to replace a player as generous as [Filip] Djordjevic.

“Miro [Klose] realized that it was important to help the team and did well.”
