Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic has expressed his delight after the Giallorossi’s 1-0 victory over Genoa at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Whilst speaking after the match, Pjanic praised Roma goalscorer Radja Nainggolan, as well discussing the controversy surrounding the referee’s performance.

“It is a beautiful day for us, especially because the won the match,” said Pjanic when speaking to Sky Sport Italia.

“We were superior to them and we could have scored even more goals.

“We prepared very well during the week and despite their physical approach, we found the right answers on the field.”

The 24-year old was also asked upon whether he had expected Nainggolan to perform as well as he has done since his recent move to Roma.

“Since Radja arrived here, he has always made himself available to the team,” Pjanic continued.

“He never gives up and is now involved in a lot of goals, as well as giving us a lot of confidence on the pitch.

“We are happy to have him, he is a great player and a friend. I am very happy after his wonderful goal.”

Furthermore, following the controversial sending off of Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin and subsequent tension at end of the match, Pjanic was inevitably asked his opinion on the matter.

“I don’t really know what happened at the end, there was nothing in the tunnel,” he said.

“[Jose] Holebas and [Diego]Perotti argued a bit but there was nothing else.

“It is normal to have some tension in games like this.

“However it is a shame because overall I thought that the referee did a good job.”
