Parma

Alessandro Iacobucci – 6 – Average

Will feel disappointed to not have done more with Cana’s cross before Mauri scored, had no chance with the second.

Fabiano Santacroce – 6.5 – Solid

Provided the perfect cross for Palladino to head home. Looked solid defensively, denied de Vrij with a goal-line clearance.

Alessandro Lucarelli – 6 – Competent

His cross which turned into a shot offered Costa a clear opportunity, the veteran timed his tackles well.

Andrea Costa – 6 – Reliable

Hit the crossbar from just outside the six yard box when he should have scored.

Andrea Rispoli – 5.5 – Uninspiring

A somewhat tepid display from the full back, had little influence on the outcome of the game.

Jose Mauri – 5.5 – Lacking

Scuffed a low effort wide from a promising position, his contribution was not telling in a congested midfield.

Francesco Lodi – 5.5 – Cautious

Booked very early on, had to verge on the side of caution for the duration.

Daniele Galloppa – 5.5 – Quiet

Had a quiet game as neither side could control the midfield, committed several fouls.

Massimo Gobbi – 5 – Culpable

Wrongly had early strike disallowed. His costly error allowed Lazio to score their second and was generally poor in possession.

Antonio Cassano – 5.5 – Poor

Aside from a few moments of class, was virtually anonymous and posed little threat to the visitors’ goal.

Raffaele Palladino – 6 – Clinical

Gave the Ducali the lead with a pinpoint header, his only effort on goal in the game as he was starved of opportunities.

Substitutes

Pedro Mendes – 6 – Untested

Came on for Parma’s best performer, Santacroce. His introduction heralded no change in the outcome.

Afriyie Acquah – 5.5 – Physical

Provided a more physical approach for the quiet Galloppa, booked for a heavy challenge.

Ishak Belfodil – N/A –

A late change to offer more options up front, had no success.

Lazio

Federico Marchetti – 6 – Untroubled

Had no chance with Palladino’s header, had little else to do and looked relatively at ease.

Dusan Basta – 6 – Enterprising

Stung the palms of Iacobucci with a fierce shot. Looked comfortable at both ends of the pitch.

Stefan de Vrij – 7 – Commanding

Another good performance from the Dutch international who is looking to be one of the better transfers of the season.

Stefan Radu – 6.5 – Efficient

Could have marked Palladino more closely for his goal, aside from that moment helped the visitors maintain possession well.

Edson Braafheid – 5.5 – Curtailed

Looked comfortable at both ends of the pitch, a collision with Rispoli forced him off before the break.

Marco Parolo – 5.5 – Anonymous

The former Parma man had a very quiet game aside from picking up a booking.

Lucas Biglia – 6 – Driving force

Crashed an early drive onto the crossbar, his numerous set piece deliveries into the box disappointed. Assisted Mauri’s goal with a header.

Stefano Mauri – 6 – Influential

Headed in from point-blank range right on half time to change the course of the game

Felipe Anderson – 7 – Star man

His pace caused problems throughout and showed good composure to score his first Serie A goal.

Filip Djordjevic – 6.5 – Opportunistic

Took advantage of Gobbi’s mistake and played in the unmarked Anderson to fire home. Had few chances to impress.

Senad Lulic – 6.5 – Denied

Denied by the fingertips of Iacobucci soon after the break and played in his team-mates often, but for poor finishing he should have had at least one assist.

Substitutes

Lorik Cana – 6 – Unremarkable

Replaced the injured Braafheid, his cross was crucial in the build up to Mauri’s goal. Not his best performance, nonetheless solid.

Keita Balde Diao – 5.5 – Ineffective

Came on in place of Anderson, felt he should have had a penalty.

Miroslav Klose – N/A –

Had 15 minutes in place of Djordjevic, was a willing runner, as always.
