Roma were held to a 0-0 draw by 10 men AC Milan at the Stadio Olimpico in Serie A on Saturday evening.
The Giallorossi failed to capitalize on Pablo Armero’s dismissal after 69 minutes as they lacked any precision and were denied on multiple occasions by Diego Lopez in the Rossoneri goal.

Roma
Morgan De Sanctis – 6 – Reliable
Forced into a double save within the opening minutes, produced another save shortly after the break. He was the quieter of the two keepers.
Maicon – 6 – Marauding
Not unduly troubled defensively, but still managed to make life difficult for himself. Provided momentum further up the pitch.
Kostas Manolas – 6.5 – Effective
Was part of an effective centre back pairing, rarely troubled after the break.
Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa – 6.5 – Composed
Alongside Manolas, and facing an isolated Menez he looked composed.
Jose Holebas – 6.5 – Suffocating
Did a good job in neutralising the threat posed by Honda.
Seydou Keita – 6 – Combative
Linked up well with Gervinho and Maicon on the right, played a key role in convincing Nicola Rizzoli into showing Armero a second booking.
Daniele De Rossi – 6 – Comfortable
Sat in the heart of midfield and was completely unspectacular in doing what was required of him. Comfortable in possession without threatening Milan.
Radja Nainggolan – 6 – Sub-standard
The Belgian was not at his best and could not create much around the packed Milan area.
Gervinho – 6.5 – Threatening
His trickery and pace kept the Rossoneri on the back foot but final ball and finishing were lacking. Last gasp run showed quality before firing his effort straight at Lopez.
Alessandro Florenzi – 6 – Ineffective
Lively in the first half, after the break was less effective before being replaced by Ljajic.
Francesco Totti – 5.5 – Below-par
An off-day for the Giallorossi legend, failed to provide any impetus or telling moments.
Substitutes
Adem Ljajic – 5.5 – Wasteful
Came on for Florenzi, delivery was poor like every other wide player on the night.
Mattia Destro – N/A – Anonymous
Replaced De Rossi to add more potency up front. Hardly had a touch.
Vasilis Torosidis – 5 – Wayward
Wasted a number of opportunities with his awful distribution.
AC Milan
Diego Lopez – 7 – Star performer
Was alert to all the efforts Roma could force. Looked uncertain when handling crosses. Barely tested after the interval before crucially denying Gervinho at the death.
Daniele Bonera – 6.5 – Dependable
Looked at ease playing on both sides of the pitch and as always did what was required of him.
Cristian Zapata – 6.5 – Enforcer
The pace of the Colombian ensured that he was able to clear up for the Rossoneri on more than one occasion.
Philippe Mexes – 6 – Troubled
Often looked troubled by the pace of Gervinho but put in a steady defensive performance nonetheless.
Pablo Armero – 5 – Villain
Struggled to cope with the skills of Gervinho and the marauding Maicon. Picked up a pair of bookings for a heavy challenge and an unnecessary handball.
Andrea Poli – 6 – Tiring
Tested De Sanctis early but faded away as the game progressed. Replaced for the fresh legs of Muntari.
Nigel De Jong – 6 – Fortunate
Fortunate not to have conceded a penalty when clearly handling a corner in the penalty area. Solid in the tackle and closed everything down around the box.
Riccardo Montolivo – 6 – Unspectacular
Put in a good, however not decisive, performance as he continues his return from his long injury layoff.
Keisuke Honda – 6 – Decent
Put in a decent shift coming up against Holebas. Sacrificed after Armero’s dismissal to shore up the defence.
Giacomo Bonaventura – 6.5 – Enterprising
The Rossoneri’s brightest spark, created several chances and his mazy runs caused the defence to think twice.
Jeremy Menez – 5.5 – Fading
Started brightly, but as the game went on became more isolated and also overcame an early knock in the second half.
Substitutes
Alex – 6 – Uncomfortable
Came on to shore up the defence following Armero’s dismissal but the Milan defence looked anything but secure.
Sulley Muntari – N/A –
Provided fresh legs to replace the lagging Poli, was always willing to charge the opposition down.
Stephan El Shaarawy – N/A –
A late sub, just about had time to fire a tame effort at De Sanctis.
I think menez played better than 5.5 at least 6 or 6.5. Had nice skills but was always fouled at midfield. Didnt get any opportunities because of milan defending tactic
