Real Madrid legend Raul has declared former Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero as ‘best player in Italian history’.
The 37-year-old former Spain and Los Blancos captain came out of retirement recently to sign with New York Cosmos.
“[Del Piero] He is the best player in Italian history, a person for whom I not only respect, but also have lots of affection for,” Raul told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Del Piero won six Serie A titles with Juventus as well as the Champions League but ended his decorated career with the club in 2012, and has since played for Sydney FC and now currently Delhi Dynamos.
