Roma boss Rudi Garcia has lashed out at his accusers after receiving a two-match ban for allegedly getting into a scuffle with a steward following the Lupi’s 1-0 win over Genoa on December 20.

The 50-year-old had apparently confronted and tried to slap one of the stewards present at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Saturday, with some reports claiming that the tactician had also spit at his victim, though the Giallorossi coach is insisting that he is the real victim in the situation.

Garcia released a note to the public and spoke about the incident and the claims against him, while also expressing his intentions to fight his punishment and restore his reputation.

“Following the unfounded accusations that have been levelled against me and the penalty to which I am victim, I condemn this intolerable attack on my honour and my reputation,” said the Frenchman.

“I shall fight with all means to defend myself against this injustice and these lies.”
