Holebas - RomaRoma coach Rudi Garcia has been banned for two games for aggressive conduct after the Giallorossi’s 1-0 win away over Genoa at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on December 14.

Greek defender Jose Holebas has also been suspended for one game after making an insulting and provocative gesture aimed at the home supporters.

The game ended in controversial circumstances as the Grifone had a late equaliser disallowed and Serie A’s sporting judge has handed Garcia with a two-game ban for “Aggressive and intimidating behaviour” after allegedly slapping a Genoa steward in the game’s dying moments.

Holebas was punished after Genoa fans began to throw various objects at the Roma bench and match officials and the left-back responded by showing his middle finger and his reaction was deemed to be an “insulting and provocative act aimed squarely at the crowd.”

Genoa’s Diego Perotti was also given a four-game ban for violent conduct after referee Luca Banti missed an off the ball incident in the 93rd minute but TV evidence showed the Rossoblu clearly kicked Holebas in the back of his right knee and sent the Greek to floor in pain.
