Tottenham Hotspur defender Vlad Chiriches could be set to join Roma in early January, according to reports in the British press.
The Giallorossi have been linked with a loan move for the Romanian international since the summer as a replacement for Leandro Castan who has had brain surgery, and a deal may now be close.
Sky Sports claims that the deal will be officially announced within the first few days of the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old has also been linked with moves to Inter, Napoli and even Arsenal, but Roma are said to lead the chase.
Chiriches, who can play both at centre-back and right-back, has made just 34 appearances for Spurs since a €9,5 million move from Steaua Bucharest in August 2013.
