Roma forward Mattia Destro is reportedly looking to leave the club after falling out with the Giallorossi backroom staff.

The 23-year-old has at times cut a frustrated figure this season, due to receiving inconsistent playing time by coach Rudi Garcia and as a result is desperate to leave the Italian capital.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Destro’s agents held an unproductive meeting with Roma officials on Monday about the player’s future with the club and are now pushing for the Italian international to be sold in the upcoming January transfer window.

Reports have suggested the likes of English Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea are vying for his signature as well as AC Milan.

Destro has netted four times in 13 Serie A appearances this season for the Eternal City outfit.

  1. I think that a move would be best for both parties. Destro would be a lot more effective in a front two as he doesn’t have the depth to his game to play as a lone forward in Garcia’s system. Roma need a player who can both score & create as when Totti is rested or having an off day, Roma lack incision & penetration in attack. They get into so many good positions but over play at times & struggle with their final ball. This is Gervinho’s greatest weakness. Someone like Quagliarella or Dybala could do a good job for Roma.
