Sassuolo boss Eusebio Di Francesco has revealed that he still sees Roma captain Francesco Totti as the Lupi’s lead man on the pitch ahead of his team’s upcoming clash with the capital city club.

The tenth place Neroverdi will be heading to the Stadio Olimpico to take on the second place Giallorossi on Saturday and the tactician, who won a Scudetto while playing alongside Totti at Roma from 1997 until 2001, believes that the 38-year-old is still a main threat in Rudi Garcia’s squad.

Di Francesco spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about Totti’s influence on Roma and touched on the roles of his own leading men at Sassuolo, while also commenting on where he may end up coaching in the future.

“When I think of Roma, I think of Totti,” said the 45-year-old.

“Domenico Berardi is the opposite of Mario Balotelli, he has a very different character. Simone Zaza had not been accustomed to certain pressures, though he’s adapting.

“My future? To coach abroad would be an interested experience, perhaps in Spain or England.”
