Torino president Urbano Cairo admits he is looking for attacking options in January, but has refused to be drawn on their identities.

Only Atalanta have registered fewer than the Granata’s 10 goals so far, and Giampiero Ventura’s side sit 15th in the table.

“We are looking to the market,” he confirmed to Tuttosport.com, “but we will not reveal names or values. For sure this is the time to strengthen, and this is the time to do it.”

Despite Torino’s struggles in Serie A, they qualified from their Europa League group.

“We need five strikers on the roster,” he continued, “we have Martinez, Quagliarella, and Amauri, and then some dealings should be done.”

“Giovinco is out of contract,” Cairo went on. “He doesn’t want to extend, but the deal with Juventus seems difficult and I do not want to start a soap opera.”

“As for [Antonio] Cassano and [Giampaolo] Pazzini,” he concluded, “they are good players, but do not fit our aims.”
