Torino striker dedicates goal to his family

Torino striker Amauri has dedicated his goal to his family after converting a penalty in the Granata’s win against FC Copenhagen.

The Granata’s 5-1 win against the Danes meant that Giampiero Ventura’s side qualified for the Round of 32 in the UEFA Europa League.

“[It was] a beautiful evening. We are very happy, also for our fans that have had this joy. Now we will think of Empoli and the league,” Amauri told Sport Mediaset.

FC Copenhagen defender Mathias Jorgensen had brought down Amauri in the box and the resulting penalty put Torino 2–1 up before the half-time break.

“I won the penalty myself and I wanted to kick it. I dedicate the goal to my family who from home barrack for me,” Amauri said.

Torino finished second in Group B with 11 points, one point behind Belgian giants Club Bruges. Torino’s next match will be against Empoli in Serie A on Monday night.
