Higuain - NapoliEnglish Premier League sides Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are both reportedly plotting a move for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentine moved to the Partenopei from Real Madrid in 2013, and has since been extremely valuable for Rafa Benitez’s side with nine goals already scored during the 2014-15 Serie A season.

According to the Daily Star, the top Premier League clubs circling the striker would be forced to part with a huge fee to bring the 27-year-old to England.

Both Liverpool and Spurs have struggled for consistency this season, the Reds in particular relying on Italian striker Mario Balotelli to find the net, something the ex-AC Milan star has failed to do so far in the league this season.

If Higuain does leave Napoli, there is a possibility he will break The Azzurri’s record for a received transfer fee, which currently stands at the €70 million received from Paris Saint Germain for Edinson Cavani in 2013.
