AC Milan have got their man at last after confirming that they have completed the signing of Roma striker Mattia Destro.

The Italian international is no stranger to his new home, having played across the city with Inter during his days in their youth side, and joins the Rossoneri after a lengthy chase.

The club have confirmed that he joins on an initial loan deal until the end of the season for a fee of €700,000 and they have the option to purchase him outright in the summer for €16 million should he impress at San Siro.

Destro has chosen to wear his new coach Filippo Inzaghi’s old number nine jersey with the Diavolo.

“It is a great feeling, I feel very happy,” the 23-year-old told Sportmediaset upon completion of the deal. “You cannot turn down a club like AC Milan.

“I cannot wait to get out on the pitch and start playing now.”

Destro had an impressive strike rate of five goals in eight league starts for the Giallorossi this season.
