The 20-year-old French youth international is set to leave the Rossoneri this month after becoming frustrated with how little game-time he has received so far this season.

The Daily Express report that Niang’s preference is to play with continuity, hence his desire to move to Tynside ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea.

Udinese have also been linked with the speedy front-man, but Niang is thought to have his heart set on a move to England.

Niang earnt his first start of the season in his side’s 1-1 draw with Torino on Saturday evening, and was replaced at half-time.
