Massimiliano Allegri Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has warned his team not to be complacent ahead of the visit of Chievo on Sunday afternoon.

The Bianconeri top the standings in Serie A following last week’s 4-0 thrashing of Hellas Verona at the Juventus Stadium in Turin, leading nearest rivals Roma by five points.

“Every game from now to the end of the season will be important, the next one above all,” Allegri said in his pre-match press conference.

“There are so many victories still missing for us to achieve our final objective. The important thing is to be top of the table on May 31. Of course, it’s better to be eight clear than five behind. If you draw two games, the ones behind you will start to catch up.

“We must try to give our best performances to get the results. It won’t be easy tomorrow, as don’t forget that Chievo were very close to beating Fiorentina. They are very dangerous on the counter-attack, so tactical intensity is crucial.

“At the end of the day, we’ll see if we do enough to win. There are many games to go this season and we cannot afford to make calculations.”

Andrea Pirlo and Gianluigi Buffon have been suffering from flu this week, and will be assessed ahead of the clash, while Andrea Barzagli has begun training with the rest of the squad for the first time this season after an achilles tendon injury.
