A local bar in Parma has closed it doors after appearing to be targeted by Juventus ultras ahead of the Bianconeri’s Coppa Italia quarter-final clash with the Gialloblu tonight.

A banner was held up by ultras during Juventus’ 2-0 home win over Chievo at the weekend with “28-01… Aperitivo da Gianni” written on it.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the banner is understood to be referring to Gianni, a historic bar near the Tardini that Juve ultra’s have attacked previously in 2013.

On that occasion the bar was damaged, as well as a man being wounded.

“We do not want a repeat of those unpleasant scenes,” explained Stefano Schianchi, owner of the restaurant.

“We were caught out last time and it has made us even more convinced that it is better to close not to have problems.”

Schianchi has decided to close his doors and bring down the shutters this to avoid any trouble between rival fans.
