Barcelona are reportedly on the verge of appointing former AC Milan director Ariedo Braida as their new ‘international sporting director’.

The 68-year-old has been out of work since leaving Sampdoria in July last year, and was formerly on the books of the Rossoneri for nearly three decades.

Mundo Deportivo report that Spanish giants Barcelona have moved swiftly to replace the recently sacked Andoni Zubizarreta with the highly regarded Braida.

Braida was said to be highly influential in bringing the likes of Marco van Basten, Andriy Shevchenko, Thiago Silva and Kaka to the San Siro during his stay at Milan.
