La Liga side Cordoba have joined Sampdoria in trying to secure a deal for Juventus’ out of favour Luca Marrone.

The 24-year-old has yet to feature for the Bianconeri this season and is keen to secure first team football and he is highly likely to leave the club before teh transfer window closes.

A report from Sky Sport Italia on Tuesday believed that a deal had been agreed for Sampdoria to sign the defensive midfielder, however later in the day SportItalia revealed that Cordoba had attempted to take the player on loan.

If the Blucerchiati miss out on Marrone, they will be ready to switch their attentions to Atalanta’s Daniele Baselli, again according to Sky Sport Italia.

Marrone, who joined Juventus’ youth system at the age of eight, has only made a handful of appearances for the Turin giants and has played most of his football away from the club on loan at Siena and Sassuolo.
