AC Milan legend Alessandro Costacurta believes that his former club’s recent on field troubles are the consequence of a lack of mental strength amongst the playing staff.
Costacurta was speaking following Milans 3-1 loss to Lazio, a result which means that the Rossoneri have only won once in their last seven league fixtures.
“Lazio are probably superior to AC Milan,” the 48-year-old tolds Sky Sport Italia. “However, this team has been poor against everyone, even Torino.”
“I think there is a problem with character, as well with organisation and also with the quality of individual players. They are temperamentally weak. Once they take the lead they always sit back and let the opposition control the game.”
Milan’s next match is another tie against Lazio in the Coppa Italia and a poor result in that game could spell the end of Filippo Inzaghi’s tenure.
