Sassuolo boss Eusebio Di Francesco has revealed that he’s satisfied with his team’s performances as of late and is hoping that his boys can earn an important home victory over Inter on Sunday.

The Neroverdi, who currently sit in 12th place in the Serie A standings, have a chance at breaking into the top 10 if they can manage to secure a win against the visiting Nerazzurri, though the tactician insists that he wants to avoid aiming too high this season and only wishes to achieve salvation.

Di Francesco spoke during his pre-match press conference on Saturday about the clash with Inter and Sassuolo’s impressive showings this term thus far, while also commenting on the club’s market dealings this winter.

“I think we should try to earn three important points against Inter, but I think earning the three points is important against every team,” said the 45-year-old.

“We prepare for every game the same way. I’d like to see the same Sassuolo that we’ve seen in the last few games.

“I’m happy with what I’ve seen lately. Inter have some problems in defence but they are always a great team.

“Europa League? I have spoken with several newspapers and the only thing we’ve ever spoke of is salvation. There are still a lot of points needed.

“Some people become alarmed after we suffer a defeat, but we deserve this ranking. We are still a bit inexperienced, sometimes you lack certain results just because of this reason.

“The market? We have decreased the squad in areas where we had too many players for one role.

“Lorenzo Ariaudo and Leonardo Pavoletti are players who deserve more space, but we still own them and have only sent them out on loan because we strongly believe in their potential.

“I hope that they can both do well at Genoa.”
