Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco feels that his side have become distracted of late, in particular Simone Zaza given the recent transfer rumours.

Zaza had an ordinary match by his current standards as the Neroverdi lost 2-1 to Cagliari at the Stadio Sant’Elia and Di Francesco was less than happy with his team and star man’s performance.

Speaking to Sky Sport after the match, Di Francesco said, “We need to be more solid in defence and be more decisive in front of goal and in ball management.

“At the start of the match, we were in the game but then we conceded after Cagliari were compact in defence.

“The second goal made me angry as it was totally avoidable if Cop was being marked, we can not afford to be distracted and need to pay more attention. Lately we are more distracted than usual.”

“I’m not happy with talk surrounding Zaza, it make him less focussed, I would prefer if less was spoken about him. He was playing amazing because of the serene atmosphere around him and he can’t lose that.”

Di Francesco will hope to return to winning ways next Sunday, when the Neroverdi host Roberto Mancini’s Inter.
