Parma boss Roberto Donadoni has revealed that he’s trying his best to keep his team united as they continue their struggle in the Serie A this season and is focused on getting the squad prepared for their upcoming Coppa Italia clash with Juventus.

The Crociati have a tough challenge to overcome as they get ready to host the Bianconeri on Wednesday but the tactician insists that the home side will give their maximum effort as they attempt to please the fans by securing a victory over Juve, though they’ll have to do so without Antonio Cassano, who just recently terminated his contract with the Ducali.

Donadoni spoke during a pre-match press conference on Tuesday about the current state of Parma ahead of the match with Juventus and commented on his own situation at the club.

“I have nothing to really say about Cassano’s choice,” said the 51-year-old. “It’s still a choice that I respect. When there is no longer the right stimulation, things become complicated.

“We plan on using some fresh players against Juventus. We will try to honour the Coppa Italia with great dignity, as our fans have asked of us for quite some time.

“Parma’s current situation? Well, what can I do? I’m trying to keep this group united. There are many things happening that we have no control over, but there are also things we haven’t been doing.

“We’re not about to place all of the blame on everyone else, we too are accepting responsibility for what’s been going on here.

“We talked with the fans in the Curva on Sunday and it was a very mature and fair meeting. But there is still anger, we feel a sense of shame in their continued respect for our results.

“I’m in contact with the club president on a daily basis, I’m fully at the disposal of the club regardless of what they decide to do with me.”
