Ex-AC Milan forward Daniele Massaro thinks there are many problems at his old club, as they continue to struggle in all competitions.

Massaro, who played under legendary coach Arrigo Sacchi, believes there has been no growth in the side and that the Summer was an indication of things to come.

“The difficulties of this Milan team where obvious in the Summer,” Massaro told Mediaset.

“The performances were bad in pre-season and at the start of the campaign. Things have not got better since, there has been no growth in this side.”

“There has been a lot of ups and downs this season but the team have stayed at the same level.”

He also suggested what he felt was the biggest problem. “Milan are struggling, especially up front where there is no focal point as [Jeremy] Menez is not an out and out striker.”

There have been growing rumours that Milan’s poor performances could cost coach Filippo Inzaghi’s job.
