Genoa are considering a loan move for Diego Laxalt as they look to replace club captain Luca Antonelli who appears to be on his way to AC Milan.
Laxalt has spent the first half of the season on loan at Empoli but he has recently returned to his parent club, Inter after failing to break into the first team in Tuscany.
Like Antonelli, the Uruguayan is a versatile player who can play anywhere down the left flank and could fit easily into Gian Piero Gasperini 3-4-3 system.
The Rossoblu had hoped that Pablo Armero would be included in the deal for Antonelli but the Colombian turned down the opportunity to continue his career in the port city.
