Genoa captain Luca Antonelli is reportedly set to make his return to AC Milan in the final days of the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move back to his former club as of late and it seems the transfer may finally be on the verge of materialising, with Pablo Armero apparently set to join the Grifone as part of the deal, though the Colombian is still yet to agree to the swap.

According to Sky Sport Italia, AC Milan have reached an agreement with Genoa that would see the Italian international sign with the San Siro outfit on loan for the remainder of the season, with the Diavolo also being obligated to make the move permanent this summer for a fee of around €5 million, which could go through even without Armero.

Antonelli, who had joined the Rossoblu from Parma in January 2011, has scored three goals and provided one assist in his 19 Serie A appearances this season thus far.
