Inter are in with talks with former Parma striker Antonio Cassano for a possible return to the Nerazzurri.

The 32 year old Italy international was in news recently when he tore up his Parma contract over a wage issue, following which the Serie A club released the player from the contract.

Cassano, since becoming a free agent, has been linked to a number of Italian clubs with reportedly Bari and Inter rumored to be interested in the player.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that Cassano’s agent had a discussion with Inter authorities over a potential move for the striker.

Reportedly Inter is Cassano’s preferred destination, and the striker will only consider other options should the deal not materialize.

With striker Pablo Osvaldo set to leave the Inter after falling out with coach Roberto Mancini and the ongoing winter transfer window nearing closure, the Serie A side are in a hurry to acquire a striker.

A meeting between club officials and Cassano is scheduled for Monday in Milan, where a final decision regarding the player’s transfer will be made.

Antonio Cassano has scored 12 Serie A goals in over 34 appearances for Parma.
