Inter are edging ever nearer to the signing of Gremio defender Rhodolfo.

The 28-year-old Brazilian and his representatives are rumoured to arrive in Milan today to try and reach an agreement between the two parties.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the player looks certain to sign for the club, but a contingency plan is in place should the deal fall through.

Atalanta’s 27-year-old Yohan Benalouane is the defender they will turn to if they are unable to complete the transfer of Rhodolfo.

The Tunisian international signed for La Dea in 2014 and has made 32 appearances.

Since the arrival of Marcelo Brozovic, Lukas Podolski and Xherdan Shaqiri, Inter coach Robert Mancini has prioritised a defender in the final few days of the transfer window.
