Inter coach Roberto Mancini has hinted at a possible shock move to acquire Manchester City star Yaya Toure as he looks to reinforce his side.

Inter have already secured deals for Lukas Podolski from Arsenal and midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri from Bayern Munich, with Marcelo Brozovic the latest player set to join, but the Ivorian international could be one of the club’s newest signings come the summer.

Gazzetta dello Sport report that Mancini is looking to sign Toure who has recently put his future in England in doubt by saying he was not sure where he’ll be playing football next season.

The Italian newspaper further reports that Ivorian’s transfer fee would be a thoroughly affordable €9 million.

Recently Mancini had refused to rule out the possibility of a reunion with the midfielder whom he coached at the Etihad Stadium.

“Inter have more appeal than many teams,” Mancini stated on Saturday.

“I had Yaya at Manchester City and I rate him as one of the best players in the world. We’ll see what happens in the future, but he belongs to Manchester City.”

French midfielder Lassana Diarra, who is free after leaving Lokomotiv Moscow but remains entangled in a legal dispute with the club, is another rumoured Inter target, though Mancini was lukewarm over a deal for the player.

“I don’t think they’re easy routes to go down. We’ll see,” said the Italian.

One man who looks set to leave Inter is striker Pablo Osvaldo, who was recently suspended by the club after a falling out with the coach.

“I have no issues with Osvaldo but I hope he can find a good solution and I wish him all the best.”
