Inter have sped up their pursuit of Micah Richards, currently playing for Fiorentina, hoping to seal the defender’s signature before the transfer window closes.
The 26-year-old is believed to be looking for a way out of Fiorentina, but as he has already played for two different clubs this season, joining a third side is technically out of question under FIFA rules.
A report from TuttoMercatoWeb suggested that the earlier troubles of playing for multiple teams in a season has been settled, which will allow Inter coach Roberto Mancini to make a bid for the player.
Richards single appearance for Manchester City in the Community Shield will likely be regarded as a pre-season game.
The England international joined Fiorentina on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City last summer, but has made only four league appearances with his contract expiring in the summer.
