AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi feels that his side need to compulsory win against Parma on Sunday night at the San Siro, if they are to put an end to their disappointing run of results in the Serie A.

The Rossoneri have lost their previous three games in all competitions, thereby mounting the pressure on coach Inzaghi and his players. To compound matters further, Milan have also been knocked out of the Coppa Italia by Lazio.

“We have never been able to achieve a certain level of continuity given the many injuries our players suffered,” said the former Milan player at a pre-match conference.

“I am as disappointed as all the Milan fans. In the Coppa Italia game against Lazio I think the team gave everything and this gives me hope for our game against Parma.”

Despite sitting at the bottom of the Serie A table, Parma are considered to be tough opponents to crack according to Inzaghi.

“They gave Juventus many difficulties in the midweek game . Even though they have many worries it will be a complicated game,” he continued.

“I hope we play a good game. I will choose the players who are better off and I want the team to display the spirit we showed against Sassuolo earlier this season.

“We have to reset everything and start over in the Serie A from tomorrow. We are fortunate to be playing only once in a week and this is a big advantage. ”

The Rossoneri have looked pretty lively in this transfer window with loan deals for both Roma centre forward Mattia Destro and Spartak Moscow defender Salvatore Bocchetti finalized.

“Destro and Bocchetti are available. It will be up to me to evaluate who plays. Moreover, it was Bocchetti’s dream to return to Italy.

“Also, I think that in the centre forward position now we have Destro and Giampaolo Pazzini, so we are well covered.”

The 41-year-old was then asked about managing former Torino winger Alessio Cerci, who signed on loan from Atletico Madrid in the beginning of January.

“He played 90 minutes on Tuesday and will be carefully assessed. Cerci has done well but he is not 100% yet because he has not played regularly for the past four months,” the tactician went on

“However, I like his attitude.”

Inzaghi also provided news on the availability of Japanese play maker Keisuke Honda, who returned on Sunday morning from Australia and the boss believes that Honda will return to the form he was in at the start of the season.

The Rossoneri are currently 11th in the Serie A table on 26 points, ten points behind the final Champions League qualification spot.
