Juventus are reportedly ready to compete with Manchester United for the signature of veteran Barcelona defender Dani Alves.

The 31-year-old will be out of a contract with the Blaugrana in June and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Spanish giants in recent weeks due to his failure to sign a renewal, with the Red Devils and the Bianconeri now set to challenge one another for his services.

According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Juventus would be open to making a bid for the Brazilian international after failing to land young Barcelona defender Martin Montoya this winter, though Manchester United are currently seen as the favourites to land him before the January transfer window comes to an end.

Alves, who has represented the Camp Nou outfit since arriving from Sevilla in 2008, has scored 14 goals in his total of 203 Primera Division appearances for Barca thus far, providing two assists in his 15 league appearances this season.
