Lazio defeated AC Milan 3–1 at the Stadio Olimpico in Serie A on Saturday evening, with Miroslav Klose inspiring the Aquile to an impressive comeback victory.

Jeremy Menez struck first, getting the Rossoneri on the scoresheet in the opening minutes of the game. Lazio had to wait until the second half before leveling through Marco Parolo.

Miroslav Klose put Lazio ahead moments later after having been involved in Parolo’s goal. It was Parolo who sealed the game in the dying minutes as he grabbed his brace.

The game began with an early moment of controversy as Giacomo Bonaventura looked to have clipped Stefan Radu inside the area. The referee waved the penalty claims away however as the match resumed.

Moments later, Menez nicked the ball off Lucas Biglia in midfield and sprinted towards goal. The Frenchman bared down on Federico Marchetti and slotted past him on four minutes, giving AC Milan the 1–0 lead.

Lazio kept pushing and had the better of AC Milan in midfield. Filippo Inzaghi’s men struggled to play around the Lazio pressure and remained mostly under the cosh despite their 1–0 lead.

Klose came close to levelling on 20 minutes, rising highest to meet Dusan Basta’s cross, but looped his header over the target. The German combined minutes later with Antonio Candreva, playing him in but only for Candreva to see his effort parried by Diego Lopez.

AC Milan ultimately succeeded in holding off Stefano Pioli’s men and went into halftime with a tenuous 1–0 lead.

Lazio got back into the game as soon as the second half resumed however. Parolo equalized on 47 minutes, volleying in Klose’s cross.  The German would once again be involved soon after.

Klose picked off Riccardo Montolivo’s loose back-pass and darted towards goal before finishing at Diego Lopez’s near-post on 51 minutes. A quick-fire five-minute period and Lazio had already overturned the score to lead 2–1.

Inzaghi attempted to change things by bringing in Alessio Cerci and Giampaolo Pazzini from the bench, but the damage had already been done. With the result sealed and Lazio in control, Pioli brought in Filip Djordjevic for the impressive Klose, who came off to a standing ovation from the home fans.

The Serbian almost got a goal but rolled over the ball when trying to turn in a cross; but luckily, Parolo was there to pounce and grab his second goal of the game on 81 minutes. Djordjevic, who had looked to roll his ankle, was stretchered off mere five minutes after coming in.

Philippe Mexes added insult to injury to, getting sent off in stoppage time after grabbing Stefano Mauri by the throat in an off-the-ball incident.

The game ended in an ignominious 3–1 loss by AC Milan, as Lazio went on to move into third place.
