Mario Balotelli is reportedly going to stay at Liverpool until the end of the season in order to be given a chance to make an impact at Merseyside.

The 24-year-old has not started an English Premier League game for the Reds since early November, and has been strongly linked with a return to Italy after less than six months at Anfield.

However, the Daily Mirror reports that the Italian will be given four months to prove himself and if by the end of the season he fails to make an impact, then he will leave Merseyside.

The Italian international has only scored twice for Liverpool since joining them from AC Milan for €20 million in August 2014.

Why should Balotelli prove himself again? Hasn’t he proved, beyond the shadow of a doubt, how woeful and pathetic a striker he truly is? Hasn’t he also shown that he is nothing but mediocre at best? Hasn’t Balotelli proved that mediocrity is what symbolises and epitomises the Merseyside club?
