Juventus forward Fernando Llorente has stated that his side can’t afford to ease up in their pursuit of the Serie A title despite now being five points ahead of second-placed Roma.

The Giallorossi played out a 1-1 draw with Palermo last Saturday evening to fall further behind the reigning champions but the Spanish forward isn’t getting complacent.

“Five points don’t mean a thing,” said Llorente, speaking to Sky Sport Italia.

“Roma are a great team, we know they want to win the Scudetto and we can’t allow ourselves to ease off.

“We must keep working hard in order to give 100 per cent in every game and show our desire to win again.”

The 29-year-old then spoke about compatriot Alvaro Morata who has taken his place in the starting line-up in the Bianconeri’s last two games.

“Everyone is important in this team,” he said.

“Alvaro possesses great qualities and can become a fine player.

“He just needs to work hard and keep doing what he’s doing.”
