Inter coach Roberto Mancini has revealed his side must do better in attack and defence after his side conceded a last minute goal to lose 1-0 at home to Torino.

The Nerazzurri controlled possession for most of the game but came undone following an Emiliano Moretti header following a corner as the Milan giants struggled to test goalkeeper Daniele Padelli.

“Overall I am happy with the performance but we appeared lost in the final third and we did not attack with depth,” the former Manchester City coach told Sky Sport Italia following the conclusion of the match.

“Football is cruel sometimes but we are on the right path, although we can not fall asleep at the end and give away the corner.

“Our attacks need to show quality in the final 25 meters and they should move more.

“We must roll up our sleeves and try and achieve third place.”

Mancini went on to discuss the role and performances of January signings Lukas Podolski and Xherdan Shaqiri.

“I was not satisfied with Podolski today, in addition to the other forwards today and they must show more determination.

“Shaqiri did not play from the start as he played 80 minutes in the Coppa Italia and his legs would not have coped with another game.

“I took a chance by bringing him on as he is the type of player who can make a difference.”
