Inter coach Roberto Mancini feels that the Serie A side now needs to improve their performance and find luck.

The Nerazzurri were in news recently for some prolific player transfers which included the likes of Lukas Podolski from Arsenal, Xherdan Shaqiri from Bayern Munich and Marcelo Brozovic from Dinamo Zagreb.

“We must continue to improve our performance and also find a bit of luck.” said Mancini in a press conference ahead of Sunday’s clash against Sassuolo.

“We hope to play well even though Sassuolo is a team that plays very well and it will be difficult to put them in trouble. They are dangerous side and when playing against the big clubs they step up their level.”

Despite their recent poor form, Mancini sounded optimistic about the future of the Italian club.

“We are improving, even though the victories are few. I am positive about the future of this team and want to keep improving,” continued Mancini.

When asked about the role of Lukas Podolski as a central striker, Mancini said: “He has great experience and can easily do that.”

The Serie A side looks set to acquire the services of Gremio defender Rhodolfo.

“Rhodolfo is a player that I have followed for many years. We need something else before buying strikers. Teams are built from the bottom.”

While, Inter’s teenage striker Federico Bonazzoli is rumored on the verge of a move to Sampdoria.

“He is still with us, sometimes we have to limit transfer formulas to stay within the fair play regulations.”

Mancini was asked about striker Mauro Icardi and newly joined midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

“I am convinced Icardi will go on to become a great striker, he has the quality to do it. Obviously we cannot think he is now on the same level as Tevez, Ibrahimovic or Aguero.

“Marcelo can be used in many different roles, including a role in the central midfield.”

Mancini also spoke about the recent Serie A rumor of Inter being interested in former Parma striker Antonio Cassano and Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli.

“The problem is not Cassano and Balotelli, or both together. The problem is that the January market is difficult and it is hard to find players who will change the team.

“Maybe it’s better to recruit a young player who may not ready now but will be ready by the summer.

“The club is working well and we will try to do the best in the areas of the squad that need it the most. ”
