Rolando MaranChievo boss Rolando Maran has revealed that his team have been preparing well to face an impressive Napoli side at home on Sunday and understands that the Azzurri won’t be an easy side to overcome.

The Flying Donkeys managed to shockingly win their previous clash with the Partenopei this season, but the tactician admits that the San Paolo outfit have since improved in all aspects and are currently in their best form, which could prove to be a challenge for the hosts at the Bentegodi.

Maran spoke during his pre-match press conference on Saturday about Chievo’s training process ahead of the meeting with Napoli and mentioned the Neapolitan side’s successful run as of late, while commenting on which players will be available to him.

“We’re facing a team that is currently going through their best moment,” said the 51-year-old. “They are able to do things even better than they were able to in starting months of the season.

“We know that beyond their current form at the moment, teams like this always have considerable potential.

“Our training? We have tried two different defensive solutions, using either four or five in the back. We will be ready to use both systems equally well in the match.

“Mariano Izco was able to train with the group on Thursday and Friday, same as Ivan Radovanovic. Only Nicolas Frey and Dario Dainelli are unavailable, but the whole squad shares a great desire to make a contribution in general.”
